Qagruq (The whaling festival) 

Frontier of Change producer Joel de Jesus returned to his hometown of Point Hope for the first time in 15 years to produce a short film about Qagruq, the village's annual whaling festival.  The movie screened at the Anchorage Museum to a standing-room only theater.  A conversation with the audience followed, featuring KNBA News Director Joaqlin Estus, former Point Hope mayor and harpooner Steve Oomittuk, and Joel.

The event concluded with a reception featuring traditional doughnuts.  Attendees also took home limited-edition recipe books and had the chance to win door prizes.
